I was born and raised in Holland and went to high school there. During high school I became interested in photography and I went on to study film and photography at the Polytechnic of Central London. After my studies, I stayed on in London and for the next 25 years I worked in film, mainly as a documentary editor. My work tended to consist of documentaries about history, art and music (some of the films I edited are listed here), with a long run of wonderful, and less easily classifiable, documentaries for director Taghi Amirani

In 1999 I moved to Vancouver and continued editing documentaries, working, among other projects, on several films for David Suzuki's The Nature of Things. I also did a fun project with fellow PCL student Robert Haines, incorporating photographs he’d taken in the 70’s.

Having retired from editing, I am now lucky enough to be able, once again, to spend time on my first love: photography.
